Launching the Campaign
February 8, 2010 by Staff, filed under Campaign News, Featured
When I first decided to run for County Commission back in November, even I was a bit skeptical about the challenge in front of me. However, based on the overwhelming feedback and support that our campaign has received since that time, my anxiety has given way to a controlled confidence as we face the upcoming election.
It’s obvious that the time is right for a fresh perspective and a bold vision for the future of Mecklenburg County. Make no mistake, the current environment in which we find ourselves is piled high with adversity. Many of our friends and neighbors are out of work. Many of you are experiencing the same trials that my own family faces each month in just trying to make ends meet.
Yet, in this adversity I see great opportunity for a new direction…one that will not only guide our path toward a more responsible future, it will guarantee prosperity for generations to come.
Trust me: we are going to make it. I believe in the people of our great county, and I believe in the spirit of Mecklenburg. It’s time we started to feel good about ourselves again, and I believe that with your help, we are destined for great things in the days ahead.
Please join me as we face this journey together.

We’re proud to be a part of it. Corey Thompson for Mecklenburg County Commission At-Large!
Well, I think I have gotten my whole family behind Corey now! My daughter came from work and while she had nothing to do (Sat’s are not busy) she got on the internet and started doing her own research! (I had given her the candidate listing off the web) When she got home and told me who she was behind so far I was excited to hear that Corey was on her list as well! She is 19 now I wanted to see HER get involved and make some informed decisions! So far I like her choices! GO COREY!
